SHOT Show 2012: Point Blank and Protective Products Introduce Body Armor Lines

Point Blank Enterprises and Protective Products Enterprises introduced several body armor products here at SHOT Show 2012, following the company’s merger earlier this year.
Sun Capital Partners acquired the assets of Point Blank, which included the PACA body armor brand, in a $36.6 million deal Oct. 28 that brought Point Blank out of Chapter 11. Sun Capital owned body armor company Protective Products and Paraclete, a tactical gear brand.

SUNRISE, FL – October 18, 2011 – Protective Products Enterprises (“PPE”), a manufacturer and marketer of soft body armor for personnel and vehicles in the military and law enforcement markets, today announced that it has acquired Paraclete, a well-established global brand of advanced body armor systems and accessories, from Mine Safety Appliances Company (“MSA”). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. PPE is an affiliated portfolio company of Sun Capital Partners, Inc., a leading private investment firm specializing in leveraged buyouts and investments in market-leading companies.
Based in St. Pauls, NC, Paraclete designs and manufactures tactical and concealable vests and customized pockets and pouches sold to law enforcement and military markets. Paraclete places an emphasis on domestic and international military special operations, federal agencies and tactical law enforcement groups.
